Well I have been going round Wigan for near 20 years (less so lately I'll admit) - never been in an ounce of trouble. So it can't be all that bad, in fact i'd say it hardly kicks off at all these days, go back to the 80's/90's pre CCTV when everyone got kicked out of the clubs at 2am and it was like a Wild West scene sometimes.

Like I said I though, wearing Wigan RL colours does attract football nobheads to have a go, happened to me and seen it happen to other supporters.

We should NOT be ashamed to wear the colours of our own team in our own town.

From the point were you implied that anyone who had any kind of dislike for Latics were people with "Chips on shoulders & Knuckle dragging Feckwits?".

As far as I'm concerned that's basically you saying anyone who deosn't agree with your thoughts or Non Thoughts on the Latics are indeed that.

You've just made the same mistake a number of other people have already over the last few pages - I didn't imply anything of the sort in terms of "any kind" of dislike, the knuckle dragging bit should have given you and others a clue. Since I posted it we've been given plenty of Latics knuckle dragging examples. Go to similar Latics boards and speak with Latics fans and you'll unfortunately get similar feckw[ii[/it examples, as we do with some of the many deleted thread on here when this type of thing comes up.

Even if I did think ALL dislike was knuckle dragging etc (which I obviously don't) it still doesn't imply I think no one else can have an opinion - your line of thinking is just bizarre.

At the end of the day.. Human beings have a natural urge to create groups/clubs/gangs etc... its also then within our nature to attack those things we don't understand or seem foreign to us. The latics/warriors rivalry is nothing more than this... Until either one or both clubs decide to hold out the olive branch and move on and forget the childish point scoring then the only people who in the long term that will suffer is our next generation of kids and their kids after them.... the more efforts that are made NOW to create harmony the sooner latics/warriors fans of further generation will see no animosity and it will actively be encouraged to support both...

IMO... We have to take the more mature view and just accept, they are there, we are here and this negative points scoring only creates arguments with an ultimate result of latics fans still being latics fans and warriors fans still being warriors fans....

Imagine a conversation that went " Hey i see your attendances are crap... Ohh they could be better, I know you like the rugby, but honestly while your bored over the winter you should go and watch a game of footy.. cos although its not rugby, at least its a good afternoon out" and visa versa them watching the rugby in the summer!!

Going back to my initial point about gang culture, nobody would want to be part of a club they don't feel welcome into... maybe if we all took the opportunity to invite these latics fans rather than the usual micky taking.. they might go some way to understanding why we are warriors fans in the first place (and again vice versa)..

It's quite easy to be laid-back about it now, with Latics on the way out, but for several years during Latics' rise to prominence, which unfortunately coincided with Wigan RL's fall from grace, it was a nerve-wracking situation and it's no wonder that real hostilities developed.

I accept that it doesn't matter any more. But those telling everyone to grow up have got very short memories.
