Sarginson may have had a shaky start but not that shaky that I’d consider Burgess in there (yet). He has never looked comfortable in that spot and doesn’t look to enjoy the added defensive work he’s got to do when he plays there.

I’d go Bateman for this game and potentially go back to Sarginson for Widnes.

I don’t get the Sarginson bashing. I know many didn’t want him back and are just waiting for the opportunity to criticise but he’s not been that bad. He’s made a few mistakes but not as many as Gildart, it’s not surprising he’s a little off the pace given the amount of time he has been out injured.

I think his biggest problem is he is trying too hard to impress the doubters he is well aware of. He just needs to settle down and play his game. To do that the crowd need to get off his back a bit.

I won’t deny I wasn’t happy to see him come back, but did you see the first twenty minutes of the game at the weekend? Vs Leigh, Salford and Souths he’s missed tackles leading directly to tries. His defence is poor and unfortunately his predictable side step in attack doesn’t make up for it.

Both centres have been poor. Gildart has been making some pretty poor decisions also but he does have a little better "stock" than Sarginson.

I honestly felt Mullen was more impressive v Souths than Marshall, Burgess and Sarg.

I don't understand the Joe Burgess dilemma, don't understand how or why he's declined so quickly. Such a shame, had all the potential in the world.

I thought that Mullen looked good too particularly as he was playing out of position.
Yeah Burgess is a mystery. He is one of those players who you want to succeed but for whatever reason his form has fallen off a cliff.

Think it's a little early to be talking about Burgess like this. Clearly there was a fitness issue at the back end of last season (don't see any real evidence of an attitude problem) and he's barely played in the few games we've had so far because he picked up a minor knock & Marshall has been flying. Nothing stopping him rediscovering his form and getting 30 tries for us this season.

Everyone forgets apart from 10 Mins at Leigh, the Suths game was Budgy 1st of the season. Did he play that poorly, I would suggest not. Did more work that Mashall does coming off our line.
