According to the Guardian there will be a new stand at Vallis Way by next season - assuming we are still playing there as the three year deal is up and I don't recall an extension being announced - and if we end up hosting the million pound match it may not be at Ealing.

Rise like Lions after slumber In unvanquishable number-- Shake your chains to earth like dew Which in sleep had fallen on you-- Ye are many -- they are few.'

Big 'if' surely - how would they get it past the Ealing nimbys?

JESUS WEPT HOW MANY TIMES????? £20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000. The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.
There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them.

And before anyone begins quoting St David of Swinton and his claims that the ground can be extended, the planning consents for any major building would take 12 months with no objections......

All planning applications are lodged and a matter of public record. The Link that you dismiss takes you to the last application (pending) for a new creche....no application has been made for a new stand anywhere on the property........but hang your hat on some lazy journalism and ignore the council planning website
