£20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000.
The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.

There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them. :BEAT:

you dragged me into this thread, so don't give it the "whatever" treatment....if you can't handle criticism I'd suggest you steer clear of internet forums because you seem intent on dragging your agenda across multiple forums in the hope that someone will back your biased and bigoted opinions.
You knew England RU played Ireland RU this weekend just gone........you denying this is indicative of why we struggle for national consciousness........small minded right wing, bigoted and racist brexit voting pensioners.....that's out audience and you fit that description perfectly!

Go on then dog I will bite.
No one forced you to read or respond to my thread.
No I didn’t have a clue who was playing who in the RU 6 nations or when they were playing, simple fact.
Not sure how having no interest in one type of sport makes someone right wing!
Look up definition of bigoted, not having an interest in something does not fall into that definition.
I have never criticised anyone for their choice of sport, or tried to impose my thoughts on to them, I just have no interest in it. And I voice an opinion, I don’t try to force my views on anyone or try to influence there views.
I am certainly not a racist, not sure how you concocted that one.
I didn’t vote in the brexit campaign, so can’t be blamed by either side, and I keep my politic opinions to myself.
I am not a pensioner, am a good few years off that.
Now you will tell me everything I have stated is wrong, but that’s fine I actually don’t care.
But I will say it is quite noticeable that when you are shown to be wrong on issues you don’t have the courage to come back and say “oh yep you were right” am talking about increase in season tickets by 33%
If you don’t like my threads ignore me, if you don’t want to, then please stop telling me my own mind just to cause an argument.
As for the general RL audience, pop down to Ealing, or Headingley, or Cas you will see it’s still a bloody good mix of youth, families, all genders and the older life long supporters.

Youth ? Families ? You are so wrong. Granted local mascots for a game, a couple of scholarship boys as ball boys, the odd family, but NOTHING like any other RL ground. Stoop, Brentford .... no comparison. Very sad and frustrating state of play.

Ah my bad, Ealing just full of pensioners then.
I did mention some other grounds as well fella, the general audience is a pretty wide spread.

I have to agree with Plum. The club have failed to attract the families with kids. I know they do a bit now that they have the foals club.
In the Marantas days The Junior Broncos was really well run. We had BBQs, open trying sessions with entertainment and food. Christmas parties. Easter eggs.Face painting even a creche. They had their own dedicated clothing. We still have several different Junior Broncos flags in the loft from that time.
Children after all are the future. We are doing all this good work in the community, let us see something coming from it.

I will say one of the slightly disappointing thing with the national schools, it would have been nice had someone from either broncos or skolars turned up to present the trophies at these end.
But I don’t know if the clubs get told or invited.
At the LJL finals last year Junior R was around for the primary Rugby, but had gone by the time finals were done.

Okay, maybe broncos crowds are a bunch of old folk. But the general rugby league audience! look around at Leeds, Cas, Wigan, KR you will see a good mix.
Back on the thread there were 14 schools entered in the London area this year (boys), yep a pretty small percentage of all the schools in the area but an increase on previous years, so more kids being exposed to Rugby League.

The club are doing award winning work in the community. Are we seeing kids coming to games bringing their parents. No , it seems to me we engage with the kids at school and do not follow it up.

marketing.......it's not all adverts and razzamatz.........picking the phone up and calling people who you've engaged with and ASKING THEM TO COME TO GAMES...........it doesn't cost anything nowadays.....
