I have to say how well the Academy team played. Jamie Langley has done a really good job with this squad and they showed no fear and put the Hull Combined Academy to the sword , wonderful.
The Under 16s may have lost, but what a performance. They kept up with Leeds right up to the last ten minutes or so and scored some outstanding tries. Leeds just had too much at the end but there was no shame in losing to them.
As a fans we should have real pride in our Academy and U16s. Most of the teams they play have played RL since infancy, most of our lads have just pick the game up over the last few years. Further the parents need praise too, because their commitment is vital, so well done to all.
I would also congratulate the U16s who have been given Academy contracts and give my good wishes and thanks to those who have not.
