The crusaders won't be getting a penny of my money in future. A shambles.

Why don't the club show a bit more gratitude to "Wellsi" & let him play a Quins/Broncos Past & Present versus a Super League Past & Present match, as a curtain raiser for one of our home games.
I'm sure that Jon would have no problem getting some of his mates from the Super League Era to get together & form a team.
He could then be given a portion of the gate money as a thank you from the club. Perhaps 50% would seem fair to me for his contribution to London Rugby League.
Some of the old players might even be able to instill a "Ner say die attitude" into our current players!

Doubt that the club could afford to give up such monies. Complete farce at the end of the day, why they wanted to play this joke of a club in the first place is beyond me.

[quote="Prince of Denmark"]This is p*ss poor from Crusaders and they've badly let Wellsy down. If they were genuinely worried about being undercooked and getting hammered I'm sure we could have come to an arrangement not to field our strongest side for most of the game or something similar, and in any case you'd think they'd want match practice before they take on Leeds in a fortnight. They've got every other day of the week for training sessions.

I wouldn't risk it - I think their website has venue TBC and ours has the racecourse ground.

FFS this goes from bad to worse! When Crusaders' move to Wrexham was confirmed it was announced that they'd play 11 SL games in Wrexham with two on the road in South Wales. Shortly afterwards it was reported in the media that the on the road games would be at Neath against Bradford and ourselves.

I was having a beer shortly before Christmas with a friend who supports Wrexham AFC and Warrington Wolves (and, being Welsh, has also seen Crusaders as often as he can since they joined NL2) and he commented that he'd seen no official confirmation of these venues, only media reports. I'm certain I checked both clubs' websites after that and both had our game down as being at Neath. Now ours has it as Wrexham and I couldn't even get onto the Crusaders site as it appears to have gone down! I looked at Crusaders' fixtures on the RFL site and just eight of them are listed as being at Wrexham, with five (against Bradford, Wigan, Castleford, Hull KR and ourselves) as venue "tbc". Given the events of the past few months I suppose it could be played almost anywhere, assuming they haven't collapsed completely and disappeared within the next three months.

I'm beginning to feel really sorry for Widnes now. They were relegated from SL in the name of expansion to make space for Catalans, then they were denied readmission in the name of expansion to accommodate Crusaders only for this farce of a club to land practically on their doorstep!

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

Hats off to Sunderland and Hull and both sets of supporters for braving the arctic weather conditions and making the arduous journey south from the north east for yesterdays premiership games in the capital.Fantastic effort in the circumstances.

This whole thing has a very nasty stink to it. Very poor excuse from Crusaders and highly suspicious as well. Surely it's more to do with having a lack of players than not being able to get to Roehampton. I expect Rosslyn Park are pretty peed off as well, would have been extra bar money for them!

Freedom for supporters of the government, only for members of one party - however numerous they may be - is no freedom at all. freedom is always and exclusively for one who thinks differently.

As Neath are at home to Pontypridd, albeit with a 19.45 ko, I doubt very much that we'll play them there (Wrexham, on the other hand, would suit me nicely :D ).

I looked on the Wrexham AFC website yesterday and there was a news item about Crusaders being unable to travel for our fixture because of the weather. Then there was a subsequent item, posted at a later time, describing how Wrexham supporters had mucked in to shovel tons of snow off the Racecourse Ground pitch in the hope that their match with Stevenage Borough could go ahead. As it happens the pitch was frozen and the match called off on friday morning, but there wouldn't have been much point attempting to make the pitch playable unless Stevenage could travel to Wrexham in the first place. So if Stevenage can travel to Wrexham why couldn't Crusaders do a similar journey in reverse?

Because as others have hinted we may not have been given the real reason for the cancellation.
