Huddersfield - Home : Tue Mar 26, 2024 6:25 pm
Feels like a new "loans" team about to be announced for Sunday. Harvey Makin first in. Totally passed me by that he appeared once for London last year.

I'm not very enthused at bringing in young players not yet ready for teams in the same league and on short term loans. Ethan Natoli looks like it will be May before he's available. Reiss Butterworth won't play against his own team even if we extended.

Now wondering if missing that final tackle at Hull turns out to be the closest we get to a victory this season. Becoming increasingly difficult to see how the team will become more competitive, especially since a big issue is size and physicality, not something that can be resolved through coaching, tactics, selection etc.

Tend to agree. Wigan’s young players are clearly very good, hard working and professional but loaning players short term from one SL to another is bizzare. It’s a real admission of where we are and difficult to see how we build a culture with short term loans no matter how good. I wonder if we could do it again we would just sign a few players at start of season who were happy to play anywhere even London (shock horror) in exchange for a SL spot and FT salary. Would that really have been so bad? Everyone is on a one year now and we appear to be heading back to the Championship anyway so changes would have been inevitable. I also begin to fear that we won’t see much in the way of competitive performances unless we recruit.

Hi
Giants fan here.
Just found out that we have been re-located from the north stand to the south stand for Sunday's "rivals round" game (even though quite a long way apart but I suppose someone's got to do it). Is this now nearer the pub in the ground? What goes on after the game? Is the bar open after the final whistle so fans can mingle?(I remember going to the stoop and staying afterwards in a bar with live music - good times.)
Any info gratefully appreciated.

Marginally further away but no more than a brisk three minute stroll through what is styled the fan zone. You’re a bit nearer the concessions and the open air bar. A reasonable amount of choice food wise at the moment but all a bit pricy as you’d expect. I believe the by the horns pub does remain open after the game. Hope that helps.

Ugh misread your post it’s the other way around. Basic point getting to the pub or an open air bar in the fan zone is no inconvenience whether in south or north stand. Enjoy your day.

This is the third season in a row we have recruited players who are not of the required standard preseason. It can't be easy to bring in quality during the season so I have no idea why the club take this approach.

In fairness to the club for the 2022 season they were just taking the pxxx. This year I suspect the IMG decision, which was entirely predictable, may have impacted on their thinking. I’d like to think it was that not incompetence.

You are generous to a fault BT, but hard to know for sure with the existence of the Broncos Omertà.

Think the two for one early bird special at local spoons may have been a factor in my generosity.
