He might be in his seventies, but he’s still got something. He’s grown SimplyBiz from nothing into a £100million company since he founded it fifteen years back - it floats on the stock exchange next month and Davy will pocket tens of millions of pounds.

What I struggle to understand is why he hasn’t brought that energy and drive to the Giants. He wouldn’t tolerate the lack of growth in any of his other businesses.

If Ken Davy was to pull out of Hudds sadly i very much doubt the giants would survive in the form that you are in now, i imagine with attendances, the rental and running costs on the ground would be far beyond sustainable with the income generated by the club. This is far from a dig, so please dont take it that way, it is just reality and would be the reality for a lot of top flight clubs - I think as the season goes on, we will see the demise of the devils.

Thankfully for the Giants Davy seems to have a lot of love for the club! MC has done a fantastic job in turning Wakefield into one of the only clubs in the league that is sustainable without someone throwing cash into the club.

On another note to Giants fans- It only takes one bad decision by a club for a few years of doom and gloom, In the same way that it only takes one good decision to turn things around - The appointment of Powell at Cas is a good example of this, the appointment really has brought the club up in the past few years, had they gone for a different option they could be in a whole different situation.. Hang in there! It will get better.

I have said on here many times that i don't understand why he lets things go on and on in their present state, The club appears to be slowly sliding down the tubes and the only thing that is ever tried to change anything is swapping coaches and trying to buy wonder players.

If we do go down the pan , some would say he is as responsible as the fans who stay away, at least he can do something about it, the fans can do nothing except keep turning up and they have been doing that for 50 odd years with little or no success, Is it any wonder we have never got anywhere near the magical 10.000. with the lack of success and the style of football we play.

When Dean Hoyle appointed Wagner he also changed things behind the scenes as he recognised that things were not happening in all sorts of areas not just playing matters. Sometimes things need a shake up a new vision etc. No sane Giants fan would ever not appreciate Ken Davy and what he has done. He has however put his trust to run things to people that aren’t up to it and it shows. I’ve always said it’s his money and he makes the calls but fans are voting with their feet and just changing coach will not sort it. If he let people who couldn’t deliver run his business he wouldn’t be where he is ,so why he lets it continue at the Giants is hard to fathom

meaning thewlis? its seems to be well known he is a family friend of davy so doesnt seem to be happening

Well a chief exec is paid to run and manage a business. Personally I can’t see any area at the Giants with the poss exception of youth development to be fair that is moving forward. Fair comment ?

prob would have tony smith back, he doesnt take no crap and would prob make sure he gets his own say on things and his own backroom staff
