Where have i said i was admiring their honesty ? 1 i was just saying what had been said and how someone from the club has now come out and admitted it was an issue, 2 at the beginning of the season when people were blaming the conditioning i will admit i was reluctant to join in and was one that was prepared to give things time to turn round but as they wont on and didn't i questioned it myself and realised that was as issue.
And at the end of they day until we are told differently then we have to believe what comes out of the club 3 as that's the only official lines we get4
1 On your Facebook post you commented on his honesty daz. 2 yet part way through the season they were denying same 3 we don't have to, and probably won't as it appears we have been fed bullpoop 4 the official line that changes depending on what bullpoop they want us to believe.

1.I commended him for his honesty on the night, in general not just on that one issue.
2.I know
3. I know, and maybe i shouldn't have worded it as i did, we dont have to believe but as that the only line coming out of the club then we're expected to.
4.I know, i agree, what the club say 'officially' and what people get told 'off the record' are different things.
I'm not defending the club here btw, it annoys me that we get fed a load of rubbish in the hope we swallow it but the true stuff comes out eventually form somewhere.
Up to now having spoken personally and generally to Rick, Chris and Luke i am more confident that things will be more honest and transparent as it will stop gossip and rumours which are read and seen by players and staff and can become off putting.

You could always try believing your eyes Daz, Gobbling up what the club puts out is the same thing as swallowing what the Bankers and politicians spew out, There is often a difference between what actually is, and what you want to believe.
I make my own opinions on what i see, those who i go to games with and know me through other areas know my thoughts on stuff.
As with everything, new players coming in, new coaches, etc i will always give everyone and everything a chance and that includes what the club tell us, i then watch and listen and decide myself if i'm satisfied with it...sometimes i am sometimes i aren't but then again as most on here and on facebook etc seem to WANT things to go wrong so they can 'be right' not many would understand about giving things time.
On here people gang up on someone if they even dare to try and go against the party line and suggest things may not be as bad as what folk are making out. At one time you could come on here and have a laugh and a difference of opinions, it didn't matter it was forgotten about, nowadays people remember what you said from months back and throw it at you demanding you admit you were wrong or your opinion now differs from back then.
As i get to hear things and people tell me stuff i try and pass that info on unless i've been asked not to, it doesn't mean that those are my thoughts or opinions but merely informing others what could be of interest, as the bit about admitting the coach got it wrong at times last year regarding conditioning, it doesn't matter what i or Tom or Dick or Harry said or thought, it's not a challenge to see who said it was and who didn't agree it was simply pointing out something that explains some of the issues we had last year.
Some people need to lighten up, chill out and not take things written on an internet rugby forum as a challenge to their daily life or a threat to their own opinions, where has the lighthearted stuff gone off this board ? everything is just so serious these days !!!
Sorry about the rant but i get so frustrated these days seeing every opinion on something challenged by those with differing ones, nearly every thread has some 'ganging up' on someone! jeez don't waste time in your life trying to get yours over everyone, accept differences, if you can't move on ....

Fair enough Daz, I don't disagree with what you have said here, but it surely works both ways Mate, I don't understand why people get so upset and feel the need to defend the club as if their life depended on it, We are all fans, nobody has to fall out because they have different opinions.
I don't defend the club unless i think it needs defending i just choose to be careful what i put about the club in the public domain as people within the club know me and through my work with the HGSA i am on fairly decent relations with certain people which i need to keep that way.
I also have my own channels which i can make my thoughts known about certain issues and i do.
This board is/was a social place where i met and chatted to lots of new friends and we could talk about rugby without the threat of feeling at all threatened, bullied or just generally wrong due to an opinion on something. I voice my opinions on things on here and accept that people may not have the same. People who don't know me away from here have no idea what my real thoughts are about certain things.

Anyway back to the players, not quite the subject of Thewlis being shocked but, I am quietly confident because looking at the players we have in the squad they will be totally different players this year with some fitness, strength and conditioning behind them. In my game a fit and talented Athlete can run a 4 minute mile but that same Athlete might get round the mile in 4:30 to 4:40 with no proper training for 12 months so this fitness guy could make a massive difference to the same guys we had last year. Will see in the pre season matches what they look like so hopefully onwards and upwards for us.

Not been in this forum all that long. But, maybe the reason the forum used to be a more social place is because fans had less to moan, criticise, have an opinion on etc etc.. I think i remember maybe Phil Clarke saying over the last 3 season we have won more games than anyone else. We've been consistently good for a while... Then all of a sudden last season changed everything. If there isn't anything positive happening at the club, on the field, then it's extremely difficult for fans to be happy and positive. It's also much easier to discuss negatives than it is positives....
Hopefully the performances this coming season can sort some of this out.
