The statistics say we should have lost : Sun Sep 25, 2016 8:12 am
We made 38 more tackles which is over 7 sets more.We made 140 metres less ground.
Conceded 2 more penalties.
In general had a lot less ball than HKR.
In fact the only area we were superior was the 5-1 on clean breaks three of which were Ryan Brierleys.
It makes it a very impressive win as the last time we had those figures was at Salford and we lost 34-12 !!!
It makes JP's whinging about 'that drop goal' interesting as with all that extra possession they should have won but then it gives a big 'rip' to Ta'ai, Wardle, Lawrence, Hinchcliffe and Symonds who made 196 tackles between them.
Leroy with 142 yards but Ikihihifo with 139 yards on 16 carries averaging over 9 yards a carry made a big difference especially in the second half.
All in all a very impressive backs against the wall win, in the end it wasn't Hull KR losing it it was about us scambling and the 'desire to win' against the tide that made the difference a well deserved survival and at last a win in a game that matters !!
Also we did it without three props Crabtree, Smith and Rapira credit where credit is due well done Fartown !!
