This weekend, was the week before the Wembley cup final and a daunting trip to St Helens was made even more daunting when Nathan Brown announced the squad, which featured mainly some untried youngsters and squad players, trying to break through. What happened was unbelievable, although eventually losing 10-12, we were, for large parts of the game in front, against what was in effect saints' strongest team, a very proud night for our club, just a shame that there was very few people there to show their appreciation, with very few Fartowners in a 8,700 crowd as most of the regulars gave it a miss with Wembley coming up.
The team that night, we are all familiar with most of them now though at the time was a very inexperienced team
