No way would he come to Giants. He's earning an absolute pile of money in the NRL.- even if we could match it (which we wouldn't) Why would he want to join the team at bottom of The table?
Face it- even if we had 175k spare on the salary cap to sign him as a marquee-he's not the kind of signing Hudds get.
With all due respect most of our problems are not in the pack. Our problems are none of our half back combinations have fired well this season and if we are honest Gary Schofield's assessment of our halves been the worst combination in the league ain't far off the mark if you take them as a pair. Yes individually Brough is amongst the best but boy have we missed Robbo both in the halves and at acting half. We would probably have conceded 10 less tries this season which in the tight games could have made the difference.
The second facet is our left hand attack no way would Gene Ormsby have got a hat trick on that side it breaks nearly every time we go that side.
Since Ferres went and Wardle has rarely payed centre, the left in general has not produced and I would try a Wardle/Ormsby combination on that side if Joe's fit.
We have enough forwards who unload in heavy traffic in the centre of the field why not try one of them on the left Tom Symonds regularly looks for an offload and unlike some of the others seems to have the nous to know when to keep the ball.
Good player as Burgess is that cash needs to be spent elsewhere in the team if we have it and I agree with another poster that it looks like Eorl has reached the end of the road. Next season may just be one too many, look I would love a swan song from him but reality needs to bite. One half decent match and the occasional try in five is a poor return from a forward of Eorl's size and previous capability.
