That side needs to beat Featherstone, Batley, London and Leigh plus one from HKR, Leeds and Salford.

Or win the £1 million game with Leigh I would think.

With all due respect as has been proved on so many occasions this season this teams worst enemy is itself.

No one has mullered us this season bad as we have been and we have beaten three of the top four sides and narrowly lost twice to the other.

We could easily have taken 10pts more but for some stupid overplaying of our hand.

With all due respect to the optimism on the Leigh board most of their season has been against part time sides and although they have put them to the sword and strengthened ahead of the 8's they should find playing the super league teams a whole different ball game.

If we manage the game cut out the stupid passing that has lost us at least two games recently then if this side gets relegated it would be a shocking under performance.

I think we the fans have the right to expect now as if Rick Stones reputation for a managed controlled game behind a big pack comes to fruition there is no way we should go down lets win boring if needs be and take every point on offer as we have seven cup ties and need to win five and 5 x 1pt wins would do for me !!

Re: On paper : Mon Jul 25, 2016 12:37 pm
the big thing is we will be playing team that have the winning mentality, we dont have that, they are used to winning and we are used to losing games.

hopefully we go on a run and get that mentality back in time for next year

Re: On paper : Mon Jul 25, 2016 12:44 pm
On paper those players are definitely strong enough to finish comfortably away from the MPG, but pressure does funny things to people. All teams will be under pressure in different ways. Last season Leigh bottomed out with the pressure of expectation, who will it be this year? I'd like to think the cool head of Stone will keep our players focused on the important aspects of the game and let other teams worry about the MPG.

brearley your wrong about Anderson after magic weekend we look like we had turned the corner should have been full of conferdance next game back to dross .If you listen to our captain at the screen after the Hull win it tell you Anderson had lost the plot and the players Stone has 2 weeks to get the dumbness out of the squad or we could be in trouble because if any team can it the self button its us

Hes not wrong and you've added caveat of Magic weekend to his point. It wasn't really that significant a match in the grand scheme of things, I think the point hes trying to make is we've not had a full or fit squad all season, this WAS significant and obviously affected us massively.

Whether it would have altered the course of the issues with Anderson much is debatable, but its not beyond reason to suggest the squad of professional sportsmen the club had (if fit) could attain 6-8th regardless.

Hopefully the penny will have dropped with the team that they are fighting for survival when they should have been nowhere near a situation like it. I hope someone, KD, Stone whoever has marked their card as regards the consequences of Failure.

Seems to me the whole injuries thing gets blown up to be more than it was......there is no denying we had a big injury list up to Easter, but after that we started getting players back and over the last few months I don't think we have suffered any more than other clubs. ON PAPER we have been able to put out teams good enough to pick up points.....as we've seen, games are not played on paper!

gazzagiant after our first win against kr we started to get players back for me the turning point was HT when we had Catalan on toast and made a balls of it. than a very bad Easter then a win over wire then back to normal for me Anderson as coach was more of the problem
