Attacking options : Sun Jul 17, 2016 8:44 pm
Haven't seen as many games as usual this season living in London but have we been that hopeless in attack all season. We were just shipping the ball side to side with no depth, options, dummy runners. Saints gave us a lesson in attack. Halves were poor. And seemed to panic with even 30 minutes still to go.

Yep,just about sums things up,but will leave the 'experts' on here to explain how we put things right.Somehow I think I'll be waiting a long long time. :)

Firstly you need a settled back line who play together regularly so that the plays become second nature.

Yesterday the difference was Walsh at 6 Wilkin at 12 like Wigan they have system that runs through the club and is second nature. Their set plays opened us up ours didn't.

Finally their forwards LMS's first try being the best example run from deep and at speed in the attacking line which is how our defence opened up so easily after a long dummy half pass and a short ball to LMS.

We crabbed sideways on attack the full back didn't interject to make the extra man and Saints were disciplined in defence.

To be fair, they were getting quick rucks against a team that was onside

We weren't

When we did get quick ruck we looked just as dangerous - the big difference is our lack of composure in their red zone and lack of coordination on our own line

agree our attack is poor

but when you change hooker, half backs and full backs regular then its not going to improve is it

need to find the right formula but thats also hard when we have had injuries

give stone time, possibly not till the start of the middle 8's he will start to have a real influence on things, got time during the challenge cup break to work on it
