Gaskell is an out and out stand off. He’s certainly no centre or fullback anymore. Pointless signing if you don’t play him at No6 as he’s not really a pure runner of the ball. He’s best used as a wider ball handler.

I’d be interested to see if he can hack it in SL. He’s too good for the championship – he was superb last year but has looked out of sorts this year.

You seem to have plenty of options for stand off so I’m not sure why you’d want more.

Ferguson signing for you lot sounds like Anderson is after more depth. He doesn’t add anything you don’t already have.

when broughs contract runs out and he goes elsewhere will we have let him go then?

remember ferguson being sent out on loan to hull kr from us and came back and was brilliant for us, a few clubs were after him at the time and bradford got him

like i say we need a squad

all rumour at moment anyway

Yes but that's not what happened with Ferguson his contract ran out and he chose a different club.

Sadly the old guard can't go on for ever,that's not saying they are not SL standard right now.From what I recall when Gaskell broke through at StH one thing he did possess was a deep kicking game,he's only 25,one for the future perhaps?

Brough will be almost impossible to replace when it happens,we definitely have had his best years.Not just the kicking,the edge defence downing second rowers one on one.

I would take Gaskell depending on what other halves are around. Ferguson has been injury prone for a while so don't see the advantage in signing him . BUT. It all depends on if anyone else is leaving. I would still like to see us get another prop.

Depending on Taais and wardles future we will need a back rower and fergy does not compare with either of them imho I also think we need a centre and winger depending on how Connor goesWILL MCINTOSH be good, what is happening with leeming
