Ferguson - no not really now -Would he play? Taai, Wardle, Roberts, Lawrence, then the youngsters still waiting in the wings. I like Gaskell - again would he play? We were after Gaskell some time ago before we signed Ellis and he chose to go to Bradford and to stay with them even when they were relegated. Do we need him? Ellis has just resigned, brough still has a couple of years, Woody is a very solid back up- Brough Ellis Woody with Connor able to step in.

It's also reported in Some of the rugby press - which is probably where examiner got their story.
I had heard the Ferguson one already. Not Gaskell though. Unless brough is finally going to live up to the going to hull, saints, Wigan, Leeds rumours and leave it seems an odd move. When is woody's contract up?

i remember ferguson well, and he was a good player for us, pretty disappointed when he left for bradford at the time..suffered with injuries there so if he is over those and his form is good he ticks the boxes.. young and english

also gaskell we have been linked with for a long time, we have tried to sign him in the past but saints wouldnt let him come or nathan brown! we could do with a centre and he can play centre and cover a few positions

dont forget its a squad game nowadays and you need one! we have one of the smallest in super league and got caught out this year.

Gaskell would be OK as a squad player, If the worst should happen with Brough Gaskell would not begin to fill the breach.

We let Ferguson go a few seasons ago, Is there any reason to think he will have improved playing out of S League, Not saying he is poor but he obviously wasn't good enough for us before.

There's that "let him go" phrase again. If brough goes to hull/Wigan/saints is it because we "let him go"? If we hadn't "let him go" would he be good enough?
