Died aged 68 ! One of the best players our game has ever seen, A truly talented half who shot to fame on Sunday TV playing at Castleford, back in the Uncle Eddie days, Must have been no more than 16 at the time, Went on to do great things at HKR and GB. Sad day for those who remember him, A genuine Legend of the game.
I hated Roger Millward he was one of those players who popped up with something special just when you thought you had Hull KR beaten but would have loved to have him in the claret and gold.
That's perhaps the greatest compliment you can pay to a star of the opposition.
I was lucky enough to see Roger, Neil Fox, Alex Murphy and many more of that era play live and although the game has changed all of them would have been awesome as full time players as they were pretty 'bloody' miraculous as part time ones !!
RIP Roger the dodger !!
