players struggling with backs, groins, quads...

hope we arent going back to nathan brown days flogging them in training and leaving them knackered, they had a pre season half way through the season in those days i think too!

Time will tell with the new set up and injuries.
But back in the nb days you could tell before kick off in their warm up and the lads were knackered into the game.
The energy levels seemed well last night certainly didn't seem an issue to me.
Think it's a case of bad luck, we have been fortuitous with injuries in recent years just our luck to lose a fair few at the beginning of the year

Is it good fortune or good conditioning though? The injury that Grix sustained was just bad luck, but it seems odd to me that muscle injuries (much rarer than they once were in our sport compared to ligament damage) seem strangely prevalent in our team ATM. We have a new back room team who have little experience of our particular contact sport.

Agreed bad luck more the reason than anything. But come on, calling for greg brown back, based on circumstancial evidence, first game in, is pushing it to new levels in looking for a scapegoat.

Chris Thorman was talking about the conditioning side of things at the HGSA meeting last week and one concern was raised that the conditioning etc under Greg was brilliant and that with him leaving it wouldn't be as good...Chris answered this by saying as good as it was the coaching staff have never seen the players so fit and coonditioned going into a new season as they are now under John Noonan and his team, now we only have his word for it but Chris was pretty honest about lots of things within the club so i have no reason to suggest he was 'just saying that'.

Injuries happen, it's part of life and a massive part of this sport so rather than shooting someone down or criticising things straight away let's remember that injuries CAN and DO happen, it's not always someone's fault !!.

ERR because broken bones and shoulder dislocations are impact injuries not affected by conditioning.

Brough has been carrying injuries for a long time . How he plays week in and week out amazes me and Wood seems to have injury after injury

Grix was unfortunate, huby - well....
The others all sound like soft tissue/muscle injuries- not impact. As I said in today's game those are not as common as impact/ligament type.
