Dead leg is caused by impact resulting in damage to muscle.

Yes a dead leg is caused by impact resulting in damage to muscle and Anderson did say it was a stay knee to broughs thigh.

You can't say it's nothing to do with conditioning any more than you can. impact doesn't always result in muscle damage.
Wardle and Woody both have a quad muscle injury from training, talk that Simpson is also injured. Not heard anything about that one.
