I am absolutely disgusted by the inclusion of St Helens in the World Club Series.

I want to know what's happened.

It can only be one of two things - either the club was never allowed the game, or they turned it down.

The club needs to tell us which it was. First thing tomorrow.

And if it was not offered to us, then they should make a lot of noise about it.


It should be Huddersfield Giants vs Sydney Roosters.

Have to agree. It is either us being shafted by the rfl or the club.

I've just dropped an email to the club asking them.

I think we need to make a proper effort to find out.

If it was a club decision based on business/financial, the club are hardly going to tell the fans that knowing what a backlash they would face !

or then again, maybe it may save us money in the long run if it were so ? who knows !!

Sounds like you know.

My feeling is that the rfl staed that there was criteria and invited nominations from interested clubs . Therefore there is plausible denial on all signs.

We were neither asked nor were we turned down . We just did not apply.

That is my understanding of what happened last year.

Which allows the club to say that we did not turn it down nor were we asked.

We will know when we see how strong the Giants statement about this is.

it would be interesting for the club to make some comment i agree, even just to confirm that we were never given the chance.

my understanding is that saints were always going to be the 3rd team in it.

but by making a statement i suppose the club could put any potential rumours to bed.

Gutted. If we've lost out two years on the trot, then what the hell is the point. We have reached a plateau and seem not to want to make the next level. Turning down the chance or not pushing for the chance to play a top NRL club is just wrong. In fact I haven't yet renewed and I won't if we don't show the ambition to make it to the next level and mix it with the big boys.
