Strangely I'm hoping for a Leeds win. Think I'd rather have a team who are doing it right on and off the field and invest in youth rather than Aussies. If you look at the side picked for KR almost half aren't British. Also Peacock deserves to have a big send off, massive respect for him as a player. One of the best RL players- certainly in the history of SL.
It's likely a forlorn hope but I'm hoping for a KR win, The CC has been traditionally a comp where anyone can beat anyone and when you get an upset , as you do from time to time It's good for the game and gives the lesser clubs their best chance to win a meaningful trophy.
I know what you mean about British players, a lot of people hold that view, Myself I just want to watch the best players available, I don't care where they come from, only a handful of clubs here can produce enough players of their own, and even those are not producing the numbers they once did.
The Giants have started to get things going in the right direction , It's not easy for them because there is so little League played at amateur level round Huddersfield compared to some areas, so credit to them for that. We have done very well from Wigan in the past and we regularly go to Wakey to get or swap players. I don't really mind where they come from if they are good enough.
The best Cup final I have ever seen was the 1985 Wigan v Hull game in which the stars of the show were Aussies, We aren't going to see a game like that today but hopefully KR will give them a game.
I think JP will probably get MOS to retire with, like you I think he deserves something , he has been a great player at both Bradford and Leeds, Had Brough not had such a great season he would have won it that year I feel. Hope it's a good game today.
