Murphy will give you an 8/10 performance at least ......every time he plays, whether it be full back, wing or centre...

cudjoe gets as much stick from fans in the stands as grix if not more. crabtree not far behind too

As I have said before, Murphy would be the first name on my team sheet, He is so reliable , and never ever looks like he is not trying.

I have been critical of Crabtree before now. Not because he gives anything less than 100%, In fact I have been critical of the coaching he has received, He could have been so much more than just a battering ram. That said, the team benefits from him being on the field.

Scott Grix is not a disaster, the difference between him and Murphy is that up to now he has been front line choice, (whereas Murphy is generally thought of as a squad man)
If I had to name one of them in the squad every week, it would without doubt be Murphy.
But a top quality specialist full back, like a half back would be high on my shopping list.

Other people will no doubt see things differently.

See I think Murphy is superb, all the things you say

But I'd pick Broughton first because he can win us games

Murphy won't, he hasn't got that game turning play in him

Sure he is utterly dependable but that's not enough for us these days

Absolutely right. But where would you find a better squad man,

I like Broughton, I like to see a speedster perform, What I don't understand is why you would pick him and rarely give him a pass.

Yet to see Broughton get a pass on space - apart from the one from Wardle after a dropped ball and he left the cover for dead at Widnes

To be fair to Broughton it's hardly his fault he hasn't done the business, we have used him in totally the wrong way....we need to give this bloke space to run, when he has had a pass its been either to return the ball in from a kick return or when he's had markers around him, if we're gonna put him in the team we need to utilise his speed even if that means kicking on the 2nd or 3rd tackles and taking a gamble.
Pointless having him there if we're not even gonna try and use him correctly !!

Spot on GD. I think Broughton has done excellently and never let us down in recent weeks especially when you consider the way we ask him to play which simply isn't to his strengths.

Scrum in our own half - brough at the base to kick and let broughton Chase (and Simpson)
