Sloppy in parts. We never looked like losing though.

Good to get a few players back on the park.

Good stints from Huby and Eorl. Wood looking good when on as hooker.

Simpson solid under the high ball.

Broughy just immense. Two 40/20s, a try and an inch perfect kick for a cracking Jerry try!

Leroy jumping the line a couple of times let them in, but all in all. Job done.

A win on Friday and leeds beat Wigan we go 2nd.

We bombed about 5 tries due to being over eager or greedy ball carriers I think


Generally though everyone good, especially given the conditions

A win next week could see us second

Would agree with that, Brough is just a very talented player and to be fair I thought Wood had his best game for some time. All the forwards did well ( even Mullally ).

Simpson is into everything at every chance, could be a special player as he learns and grows a bit.
McGilvrey worked hard as ever, he is one tough fella, Cudjo seems to have made jumping out of the line part of his game, but he is what he is.

HKR looked a bit jaded for me but that's how it crumbles ,We could have had a few more try's, shame Broughton didn't get a bit more ball, but he does his share running it in.

Entertaining game, Did Brough take a knock ? hope not.

Agree we never looked like losing and they only ever really looked threatening for a 10 minute spell when Kelly played a bit....Broughy tore em a new one today, that was some performance, that kick for Jerry in the corner - and the finish was absolutely class rugby league, the vision by Brough and the execution by both men was nothing short of sensational.

Simpson is an absolute star of the future, he took some big smashes today as obviously they had decided to target him with some big hits but he was totally unfazed by anything they tried.
Very impressed with Bruno, Mullers, Wood and Chubs too...negatives though for me were again the bombed chances, we could and in fairness should have had 50 today against these lot, Robbo's passing from dummy half, awful at times, and Leroy gifting them 2 tries with his charge outs.
Though i'm not complaining, that was quite an enjoyable performance to watch and when Brough is in that kind of mood there isn't a half-back in the land to touch him !!.

as easy as it gets today, rovers offered very little i thought, and it was only our errors, bad decision making and general sloppiness that made the score look that respectable.
we were excellent at times and poor in others, but we just had far too much for them.

we bombed 5/6 great chances, most of them in the first half, when really we should have been 20 point up at least, 2 bad defensive reads from cudjoe gifted them 2 tries, and i we must have blown a good 5 tries too.

saying that, we handled the ball well in the monsoon and ran and tackled hard, i just wish we had more composure, the 2 we bombed late on in the first half ( ellis & cudjoe) were criminal!

rovers had a decent little spell when kelly decided to show up for 5 minutes, other than that they were lucky not to be taken to the cleaners today.

very happy with the win!

Huby had his best game of the season I thought. He actually ran into the defence instead of stopping to offload- and some good handling from him in the middle too. I thought wood was miles better than Ellis and robbo today. Gave Lunt a class in how to be a hooker using a range of tricks in your armoury!
Biggest disappointment was them scoring 3 minutes before the end of the second half- but with the personnel changes after wardle and brough came off the defence lost some shape.

right now, broughy is on a different level to any other half back in the competition, even when he doesn't have the best of games he's still a class above anything else in this country.

i almost felt sorry for rovers today, he absolutely, categorically destroyed them in every blade of grass.
i said after the game, that we have got the lionel messi of rugby league in this country playing for us

Cudjoe made one bad read. The last try he made the correct read and got to the man and then missed the tackle which is disappointing. Top performances from Brough and Wood and the entire pack of which I thought Kopczak was the pick.
