A much better performance today. Great to see the 10 metres being patrolled by the official better and as a result some much better play.

Some strange positional changes by Anderson but seemed to work. I learned:

1) Wood is a better scrum half than hooker.
2) Ellis is a good passer from Dummy half.
3) Jake Connor is a good centre.


The shape was really good at times. Lots of options. A good all round performance.

A good one to build on. I think that was the first time this season where we have scored long range tries.

Hicks was inconsistent but at least the teams could play.

Man f the match for me was Connor, Mcgillvery or Cudjoe.

Well we got back to winning ways and now up to 5th in the league

better performance than what we have seen in the last 3 games, Anderson freshened things up abit and it worked.

Wardle is going to be a future 2nd rower, i like seeing connor play too, exciting with the ball.

Cudjoe was brilliant today too.

Has anderson given up on Ellis at half back now?

Bailey injured?

Leroy had his best game this season - outstanding defence especially against Tonga, and brilliant in attack. Probably should have scored himself sometimes but set up Jerry and Grip tries really well - a real handful for the Cats all day.
First time for ages that we spread the ball and whenever we did we looked really dangerous.
Connor played well too, Murphy of course, Jerry, and Grix were solid at the back and positive in attack.
Also Ta'Ai was superb and never dropped a ball - yay!!!

What I liked about today was we had quite a few options in attack, more in one game than I can remember for a while, we were prepared to try different things. Still lacking a little composure at times though, maybe jerry could have made the simple pass in the first half back inside rather than waiting and doing the one hander back to the cats player. Connor backing himself to get over from a couple of yards out too another than throwing a low one to murph to fumble. Cudjoe best game for 2 seasons IMHO seems more prepared to go through a player on occasions than perhaps in the past. thought Ellis went well in second half and wood, we are much better when we speed up but don't push things to do so. Other teams do it to us, you get the penalties or the position, we need to do to more.

3 shockers, at least one or to forward passed in one of our tries but l'll take 'em. Brough taken out no penalty but Dureau gets one. Murph offside from the kick through when he tackle the full back, 1-2 yards onside easy!! Bad guess work by the ref (perhaps pass to Erol was too but maybe 50/50). Hicks wasn't that bad till the last 15mins.

Much better overall but I never enjoy the Cats games, always painful to watch at times, we never play that well at home against them.

Think Wardle is back row on that side till Ferres comes back so maybe Connor gets some good game time - hope so other wise I'd have to say he needs to play at full back instead

Though Grix was ok today

Wood and Brough looked the business last year before woods injury so today was no surprise

Ellis and robbo spelling each other is good as well I think

We just were better all round today simple as that, now more of the same and let's pile it on Hull for that opening game

Agree with all positive attacking and passing options as above.

I liked when there were some handbags in second half cox was first one in. That with Leroy not backing down, and some tough prop metres made, I thought we had a toughness about us today that has been previously missing.

I would of picked Wood to partner Brough all season. Glad it's had it's chance again.
We defiantly have some revenge to put on Hull FC next week. Hopefully this is a kick start to some better offence.

All round improvement today.

The more I see Connor the more I like him.

Eorl made some good metres and put a few on their backsides as he did.

Broughy kept his temper well.

Murphy was his excellent self.

Hicks was going well until he realised we may have been winning the penalty count.

Most pleasing thing for me was how we cut out the silly mistakes.

Thought Woody was excellent today. Leroy had his best game in ages. Jerry, grix and murphy had good games and Jake continues to show good spells (as well as lack of experience at times) Not convinced Wardle has the defence to be our best option at second row- although not particularly tested as for some reason cats seemed to want to go down our more established side rather than attack a young player and one playing out of position.
Cox has some go forward but looks a bit dumb and slow
I'm not getting carried away- Catalan werent brilliant and we Still made too many errors for me.
The ref did ok till the last 20 when he seemed to lose it a bit.
The tackle by Jerry on Tonga fid not look like a penalty - it was a big hit and Tongas head looked to hit the floor when he went down. He's a better actor than a rugby player going by what I saw today!!!
