Big loss for the game I'd presume will be the one game the players and coach would be most fired up for before the playoffs. I'm not too worried however.
Could be smart play.. Would they have played if it was a play off game? Most defiantly so.

I'd go with...

1.Grix
2. Jerry
3 Cudjoe
4. Murphy
5. Broughton
6. Brough
7. Robbo
8 Crabtree
9. Lunt
10. Kafusi
11. Ta'ai
12. Larne
12. Patrick.
13. Lawrence.
Subs.
Mullally, Faiumu, Bailey, Koppy.

Wire were lucky, four key points went in their favour that swung it for them, only the harrison "try" due to decent play by them. First them dropping the ball due to a good hit which was deemed to be knocked out- we should have had the ball -they went on to get another six deep in our half and score. Second the missed kick by brough which he should have got. Third when brough made a break he should have kicked the ball for all to chase- it may not have resulted in a score but could have forced a drop out but at least they'd have had to run from deep -instead he threw that silly pass to murphy, and fourth the try that wasn't.

Re: Warrington away - Thursday : Fri Aug 29, 2014 9:56 am
Felt like a loss lastnight after the game, we should of had it wrapped up and put to bed when we were so far ahead... but then again we werent helped by some shocking decisions... how bentham thinks that ball was on the line is a joke...but we have come across bentham once before this season which has cost us big time.

still failing to put in a full 80mins which is our problem..but this was still an improvement and we can go into the playoffs with some hope now.

the top 4 still to play for!

thought lunt , brough and robinson were brilliant lastnight. as were the Giants fans!

The decisions against us didint help and i said coming back they got back into that game on the back of us not doing what we had done very well for 50 minutes, their crowd sensed a way back and that's when it started to change, the barracking and booing turned the ref into a homie and thats when it changed, we only have ourselves to blame though in the end despite some shocking decisions going against us..but that's what a partisan home crowd does for you...i would love our fans to be able to influence a game like we see happening all the time at away grounds, he was scared in the 2nd half and that became a huge problem for us too !

Jools, I honestly like Huddersfield and I've no doubt that the Harrison try call was lucky, but, the rest of your post doesn't make any sense at all, we could've done this and we should have done that, blah de blah

After the first twenty minutes, we should've/could've been 18 up without any reffing influence, but, we weren't, NOT BECAUSE YOU WERE LUCKY but because WE over played, tried to score off every set, chose the glory play instead of turning the screw (we've not been any good at that recently) and getting a repeat set draining your energy in defence instead of a cheap turnover. Oh that and your fantastic 'line speed'.

For mine both sides were Jekyll and Hide, we had the first and last twenty's you had the middle, boring it wasn't, but, lucky...please reconsider

the Claret And Gold Machine is ready to roll

sunday September 1st 2013, when a dream became a reality!!

Re: Warrington away - Thursday : Fri Aug 29, 2014 4:51 pm
i said after the game, and "debated" with daz that the game changed when the referee let warrington's players and fans dictate the game, yes we were our own worst enemies at times, as for changing the way we played, we had no choice because we were getting nailed for things we weren't in the first half, once they get a roll on they are hard to stop, especially when we seemed to be constantly defending in our own half, due to both us and the way the game was being reffed.

as jools says i feel the biggest turning points were brough's pass to murphy, yes it could have come off had the pass hit murph on the run, but i feel broughy would have been better taking the tackle and starting a set deep in their half with their defence scattered....then the incident with brough/monaghan which led to yet another set for them, that seemed to kill us, our heads when down after that.

but we should have wrapped the game up at 23-6 no doubt about it so only ourselves to blame.on the other hand we showed enough character to get a point and not let them finish us off with another try or 2 which would normally happen.

happy that we ended our losing streak but unhappy we didn't get the win.
