He was missing more tackles than the other hookers, fact.
Which proves that if you make decisions on stats alone 2 + 2 = 5.
He was miles better and had more potential than our other hookers.
Fooey iMHO opinion is better at loose where he can use his sidestep and leave players flapping as he offloads.
Robbos greatest strength is running at tired defenders and exploiting gaps and running from Dummy half.
Playing him for 60 mins or more when he spends half his time tackling props and second rows and (Maybe not missing tackles) then takes away all of his attacking flair. How often do we praise robbo for cutting through the defence making a 30 yard run and offloading to a support player. He did very little of that in the second half of the season as he spent all his time tackling.
I love both Fooey and Robbo but they are both better off the bench.
This is the problem of trying to make decisions based solely on an individuals performance. We do not have a team of outstanding individual stars and when one thing goes wrong it affects others performaces.
This season everyone in the backs has been scapegoated at various times Grix, the wingers Eden, etc. If you have players having to cover up for others weaknesses or mistakes it often makes them look bad when quite often it is not their fault.
Our sliding defence was crap in the middle which then made the players look crap when the ball was shifted wide and centres and wingers then looked out of place.
Al this about Lunt mising more tackles is rubbish. The decisons on which players to keep have to be based on other considerations and any coach who does not grasp that is bonkers.
