The debate on season tickets needs to take in the reality for most fans who aren't die hards, but who are weighing up in hard economic times whether they should renew, and what else they could do with the money.
They will probably be thinking, of the 13 home fixtures -
2 will be missed due to holiday / other commitments
2 will be televised, and these will be attractive fixtures
2 will be of a "no contest" nature, against bottom of the table opposition
I assume that our "average" supporter is flexible and can attend games on a Friday / Sat / Sun / Monday !
The "remaining" 7 games, can be bought for £18 each on a game-by-game basis. Total cost £126 !!!
So what price a season ticket ? I reckon £140 is probably about as far as it can be pushed, and above that, attrition of those who bought for the first time at £99 will start to kick in hard. Maybe the club have already factored all this into their thinking and are prepared to accept this. It will be interesting to see how this develops and how the deals are structured.
