Rodders sold a good few,more than a good few,it was what plenty of fans wanted,

Its not hard ! - but make the story fit the plot eh?

If its at least given marketing a "prod" and brings some additional revenue to the club -- then we really cant be that bad eh??

And for a so called fan/supporter calling lads who pulled on a shirt, took the knocks, in many cases were "one club players" ,and gave their all on a weekly basis for the club,- "back street traders" - is in my mind a bloody insult and I suspect one they wouldnt say to their face !

Aye, in fairness I don't think these fellows have made a great deal of profit from these ventures (if any). They were undertaken because people wanted them and they had the time and patience to organise it.

Think the "back street traders" poster is way out of line here. Rod provided good quality retro shirts at a reasonable price at "no profit" to himself. The club have had years to provide a retro shirt if they so wished but decided not to. Rather than have a go at a fan who went out of his way to provide fans with a quality shirt they wanted to buy, get onto the person at the club who chooses the poor quality, overly priced trash that's on the shelves in the shop.

Although I also buy the "poor quality, over priced trash" and lots of it!

... And Durham another great idea from yourself regarding the booklet thingy-in fact given that the heritage project thingy is underway you'd think someone would already have put 2 and 2 together, think you should offer yourself as a consultant!

i think it's pretty obvious that the club are ONLY NOW jumping on the bandwagon with the success that rod and the ex-players association have had with the retro shirts and finally realised that maybe thats what a lot of supporters wanted all the time.
as other have said they have contacted the club/enquired about the possibility of producing replica retro "fartown" shirts but have always said no as they didn't think the market was there, this is not just the last 3/4 years as daz says but going back further than that.if the club had listened or taken on board suggestions 7/8 years ago then they could have made a lot of money on them,as it is the ex-players association went ahead when the demand was apparent and have been fully justified.as for them been back street sellers then i too think this is an insult to these blokes who are just normal blokes who played for fartown for the love of it and to earn a bit extra away from their jobs, blokes who played for the club when it was at its lowest ebb some of them and probably got very little or no financial reward for their efforts, had it not been for one prominent ex player 25 years ago i wouldn't have got the bug.
i've also got some other tat from other supporters idea for alternative merchandise and they are still good quality stuff even 7 years later, i wish i had got one of those hoodies all those years ago.
but i still say well done to the club for doing these shirts,it's only taken them about 8 years but at least they are now getting them in the shop!
