I would say DB just wants out, but he's awaiting the final outcome. Ralph Rimmer stated in his interview " Its not all about the structure" It's about putting things in place that take the game forward to 2021.
As I stated in another thread, I assume that will see a return to licensing now rather than 2022. Clubs not meeting the criteria now, have three years to meet it. I would imagine the current deliberation which would concern Toronto and Toulouse, as in what criteria should be set in order to protect them along with SL Clubs who also don't meet the proposed criteria at present.
Then, perhaps our owner could say just that? Surely, the RFL future deliberations were relevant, when our initial statement was made? Also, I can't see the future of the Game, being announced any time soon.
Best to just leave all speculation and rumours in the bin until something ' concrete ' comes to the fore , we have a match to attend next week , Sheffield again so hopefully another enjoyable game

How can he? Surely, you aware of a possible structure change? As is he. The new signing was also reported on the official website, would you like another statement to show why thats failed? Or can't you see why it's failed?

Yes, I/we can see. So you reckon he can't say why his announcement is delayed. I don't see why not. However, publicity/PR is all about telling people things, rather than letting them guess. He made the statement saying that he would tell us more 'early next week.' He hasn't done that. Do you think that the future structure announcement is imminent? If so, can he not say whey his promised announcement has been delayed?
And yes, the 'new signing' was announced on the official website. That's my whole point - it obviously didn't happen, but nothing was said. As a club, we don't communicate all that well - in fact, when the news is 'negative', we tend not to communicate at all.
Why say an announcement will be made on Monday, then not make one. You could just say an announcement will be made in 'due course'
However, contrary to Atomic's view, I do not believe Derek wants out. Just that the level of investment required from him to maintain the current squad next year makes it 'untenable' from him alone. A substantial amount of future expenditure has since been removed from the wage bill.
The structure and more specifically a clear pathway in to SL for ambitious championship clubs will be the key driver.
The communication from the club is completely biased towards positivity, positive news is announced with a fanfare that there will be an announcement about an announcement of important news. Negative news, er let’s see, cannot be found anywhere.

Exactly my point reffy.
The thing is 'negative' (or apparently 'bad' news') can be used to generate positivity. I understand, and accept, that our owner has made a huge contribution to our club, and is probably working hard to find a way out of this predicament, for both himself and the club. I also understand that we are not entitled to know all the details of what has happened/what might be going to happen, but why make a public statement and then not follow up on it, as he said he would? There are probably valid reasons for not doing so. Maybe it would have been better to say nothing about an imminent announcement, or to simply say the follow up is delayed!
Thank goodness for the websites of the RFL, Cas, Leeds, Warrington & Hull KR, informing us of what had happened to our departing players!
I think we need to prepare for a reintroduction of DR's next season with no benefactor involved I just hope it ain't with wigoon again that was painful to concede.

But he can always use his next statement as an advantage to the one he didn't make. His next statement I presume will, start off with reasons for not making that statement along with a more in depth report regarding the situation.
Don't see the point in making a statement that states the follow up is delayed, when you already know that.
