Peter,
You have a point in all of this, despite yourself.
I’m going to go to Toronto to take in the game. Should I get the chance I will shake the hand of all ex Leythers, PR included. Ya know why.
Because it’s water under the bridge, and perpetuating the perceived issues serves nobody. Sport is sport, not life an death. Life is too short. I support Leigh, my dad supported Leigh. Many others do the same for Leigh or their chosen team.
BUT
Bottom line I support my team and respect anyone who supports their team.........
Who do you support ?
If it’s Leigh then quit creating threads designed to disrupt and if you have concerns post constructively.

I do support leigh . But I find the way some fans act cringe worthy . The frenzy they build up isnt right . The question ive asked is to the point rather than go the scenic route. Look at some of the reactions after the game , these lads know each other and I bet all are feeling quite let down by themselves . the hate campaign needs to stop . Good on you for wanting to shake the lads hands after the game its how it should be ;)
Leigh to win challenge cup before 2020
Leigh to reach Grand Final by 2022

Derek to get a queens honour (mbe) by 2025

Oh Leigh oh Leigh oh Leigh

He's no good - the lad is huge but couldn't bust through a wet paper bag. He was crap at Wigan, he was crap here, and christ knows why Saints then signed him. Predictably, he was crap there as well.

He's now where he belongs, in NL1.[/quote]

Peter, you are entitled to your opinion but don’t expect others to support it. People can paint a pretty picture of Rowley all they want to.

The fact still remains Rowley left the club high and dry 2 weeks before the start of the season.

Many have moved on, but that fact will always remain with many.

Personally, I'm not keen on PR the person. However, I'll freely admit that he coached us off the park in the first game this season. Last week was much more even, against KP. So far, he has been proved to be a pretty astute and successful coach. His one big blip was the Middle 8's, where he/the team failed spectacularly! We are about to find out whether he learned from that experience. If Toronto do make it to SL, surely he deserves his chance at the top level?

As for the players who jumped ship, I'll never be convinced that he acted within the laws of the game, on all of them. (neither did the players, probably, for that matter) However, we have only ever heard one side of the story about these players - (especially Ryan Brierley, who initially departed for SL.) I would humbly suggest that, as is the case with all disputes, there are two sides to all those stories.

I really don't want Toronto to succeed. It's nothing to do with the city, the coach, or the players - it's just that I don't think the venture will succeed, whether it be Toronto, New York, or Beijing. I honestly think it could be harmful to the game over here.

As for the 'traitors', I would happily accept some of them back in our team, any day.

Just because you believe your own opinion does not make it factual.

If you can gain respect in this sport you’ll stand a chance.
Your just on the wrong board for preaching that.

Don't follow...the progress of Toronto is real and has already met many benchmarks. It appears some people will never welcome the new team(s) , much as they view the French teams as outsiders. This is the old way of thinking, not the new way. That is why the sport needs a new injection of innovation, and TWP supplies just that.
Watch the Broncos game this coming Saturday, watch the crowd. Your perceptions should not be tainted by the team you support or what board you are on (SO PETTY)....this is the amazing growth of Rugby league right before your eyes...I'll bet the bank on it one week ahead of time and eat my words if they are wrong:

Big crowd next Saturday in Toronto.

It would be nice to see a Canadian team. That seems to be currently light years away. Your on the Leigh forum why,I don’t know. You are welcome here, but please try and contain your excitement.

Do they charge for entrance to the beer tents or is that in with the free ticket?
