Indeed. But you had better keep your fingers crossed that the more powerful SL clubs see Leigh as being one of them (ie a SL club), rather than, say, Toronto, Toulouse, New York, Bradford or others...otherwise you might shortly have a different perspective on how SL clubs use "their" money and where that leaves Championship (and League One) clubs.

That's unusual someone having a pop at Leigh. Wonder what your comment would have been had Catalans been relegated.

Eh? I wasn't having a pop at Leigh at all, and of course I would have said the same if it had been Catalans relegated. It's not Leigh's fault in any case, they could hardly have been expected to have turned the cash down.

The issue is that the central funding distribution - based on where teams finished - is being made a mockery of if SL teams are dolling out a huge chunk of extra cash to one of the team that needs it least, especially given the issue of voiding of contracts. It's no wonder that some Championship teams are sensing a closed shop.

Don't they actually need it more,as their investment in the game is more?

What about the integrity of the Championship as a competition? Distribution is already heavily loaded towards the more successful teams, but at least that's based on on-the-field achievement. And if the whole point of distribution is progression, why not give that money to, say, Toronto or Toulouse instead?

It needs to sign up with another TV broadcaster and needs to stop following in the shadows of SL.
But it won't just appear, they will have to get off their arses and make it so instead of just signing for something that pays the bills.

From what Wakefield chairman/owner(?) is saying, the danger is that some of the more powerful/selfish SL owners want to keep all the SKY money between 12 clubs, and not 14!
