Are we to remain under the radar? Certainly, paid dividends last season playing it that way but isn’t the media aspect being missed? I missed the flamboyance the arrogance of 2015.
Is it time to bring it back for 2017? Many will still be looking to see us fail, possibly the arrogance should return!
More than happy to fly under the radar, especially for the first few games, which will be tough. If we win a few games, we will be on the radar soon enough. Don't mind a bit of flamboyance in the last 10 minutes when we are 25 points up, but I don't think SL is the place for any more than that. We need to be treat every opponent with respect (except W****) be clinical, close games down and get the two points.
For a long time we have been a big fish in a little pond...now we are a little fish in with the sharks stay well under the radar and hope we can remain a super league team for a long time if we can finish 8th I think that will be a great achievement.
The 2015 flamboyance was great to watch and, apart from blowing the Championship clubs apart, caught the first two SL clubs out. But the wheels fell off the model. Furthermore, we are now under a new coach, a coach whose 2016 model ultimately achieved more. So here we are in The Promised Land. There were times, especially in the 8s where it was switched on temporarily for short periods when a soft spot was spotted in the oppoes (the early part of the Bladdersveldt game is a prime case), but once that was remedied by said oppoes, the horns were pulled in and disciplined (on the whole) RL took over. We did end up clinging on late in games but hopefully the incoming pros' experience and the much vaunted, new fitness regimes will see most legs last longer.
As you say elsewhere, Atomic, in the coaching staff (and players) we trust

2015 was for the majority very entertaining and rewarding as a fan but as one or two posters on hear pointed out it wouldn't take a reasonable coach and team long to work us out and stifle our spreading the ball, for my money that's exactly what happened and it didn't seem that we had a plan B to fall back on
Look we're in SL were not going to stay in SL by flying under the radar , what the hell does that even mean in this context ?
The other clubs will still be doing due diligence on us , they'll spend just the same amount of time dissecting our tactics and our players strengths and weaknesses as they do for anybody else
Widnes stayed out of the middle 8s last year not by sneaking up on clubs , they went out all guns blazing to hit the front early on
That is what we need to do , go for the jugular , you don't worry about the opposition , it's their job to stop us , make it easy for them and we'll end up back in the Championship
Bongser's point exactly, Ste-Jumbo. The tactic also left us exposed at the back. We'll have a pretty damn good set of forwards on the field this season and can't see NJ having a bench of anything else for interchanges. The backs will get their chance to shine but the ball will stay with the big lads a lot more than in '15.
Style was great to watch. Staying in SL and establishing a firm foothold there is the thing to hope for in the first season (or two?) That's the mission statement over the hearth at Bongser Towers.
We'll get a glimpse in a week's time if the Pahs really do send a top team down.

With you, Gubby. Seem to recall that someone posted an under the radar/surprise package message before the 8s and we all agreed that there would be plenty of footage available to the oppo coaches. The only thing we have that will be a surprise in the early games will be the new signings, how they fit and how they are used.
As to the use of the phrase 'due diligence', Bongser thinks that, in the absence of weekly matches, injuries, signings etc, we've all been spending too much time on the Bulls' forum.

Calm down Starbug, I'm sure you know what Atomic meant. Rowley's 'pre/post' match comments where 'full of confidence/bordering on arrogance' and the press/media embraced this, and it was a good thing at the time. But I prefer the Neil Jukes method of thinking.......

Fingers crossed for the announcement on Monday.
I've done ' due diligence ' a few times myself Bongser in the past
