Bongser is now even more confused regarding the salary cap. If what you say is true, Mr C (and as Bongser doesn't know you personally, he has no solid reason to doubt your word), surely a company paying off an employee's mortgage would be viewed by HMRC as making a payment in kind and that that would therefore be taxable. Does the RFL not view that sort of thing in the same light?
Bongser may be in search of his marbles but he thinks that, if that is the case, things have come a long way since offering signees a wage and a guaranteed window round! Could Leigh (or any other club that has money still in the "boot") not therefore sign a top player for a tuppence 'apenny salary and employ his good missus to sell programmes on matchdays only for £100k a year with a 35 day per annum holiday allowance?
Please enlighten the poor chap as the new Mrs de Bongser is already spending her new wage in her head
