Mick Govin also suffered a long injury, and after scoring 20 tries in 20 appearances, the season before I dont think Chris Purcival was able to play a single Super League match due to injury.
Others such as Kevin Henderson and James King simply fell out of favour with Dazzler.
Mind you, he still ranks as one of the most sensitive people I have ever had any dealings with.
Irrespective of what part of Rugby League you belonged to there always had to be a faction that upset him. Be it players, wives, officials, supporters, media or sponsors alike they will all have upset sulky chops.
I do wonder why he is no longer in the game.
Harold wasn't he involved with Econoloft?A company that converted loft space to rooms , I think it was owned by his father in law.

They couldn't get Henderson on the training ground. He 'suffered' a catalogue of injuries, that prevented him from doing any form of training whatsoever!
What's the point in reminiscing about 2005 , it's now what matters, and i personally think we are well placed in doing quite well in SL , i know some others don't , but i couldn't give a **** about those people. I am staying positive that we will still achieve SL status for 2018 and not by the middle 8s btw.
So Mr Chairman. You say we should have signed George Williams, then you say Wire have paid off his mortgage to get him! We are not in that league yet. For a start George's dad is a scout for Warrington, so he is naturally going to gravitate towards them. Simon Moran is far wealthier than DB so we couldn't compete on that score. Why would young George be tempted to sign for a club that has just come up from the championship than a team that has just been in the SL Grand Final.

I don't think wealth comes into it when we have a salary cap. one can be worth a billion quid and another worth half a billion quid, so that's irrelevant. FWIW - George just could also take the challenge of proving himself, from a team promoted from the championship to prove what a kind of a good player he is ,and to prove he can produce his ability with any team.

No one likes change C&W...Moran probably has very little financial input these days.DB set his mark at a cost and did it. Leigh may not compete financially with other clubs, but its on the field that counts.

Not reminiscing , just looking at it from the size of our squad this year , yes in 2005 we had horrendous injury problems , something always ignored by those criticising our performance that year
I have no doubt Dereck and Niel will be aware of this and be looking at options if we start to see the same again
