Actually, Dull Nick, I should clarify that Vantage (the company that runs the V1 & V2 rockets) are a subsidiary of First Buses. They occasionally run buses in standard First livery on the V1 route. So whilst you are likely to see a purple V1 it may be a V1 but not as we know it, Captain. The important thing is V1 on the dot matrix above the driver's cab. If in doubt have another piny or few of Abbot - you might find it helps shield the pain against the Wire - though I wish you well. Get a day saver on the bus, £4.20 will see you to and from Leythe and also, if need be, to and from LSV as long as you are on a First bus. If you intend to get completely hammered you might like to consider a weekly saver (£14).

Note to all: I have no connection with first buses barring the fact that my I-Pad is charging on a V2 as I type

As a lorry driver I used to park in Leigh on the lorry park between the 2 tool hire shops. One night this bird knocked on the cab door and asked me if there was anything she could do for me, so I threw her a rag and asked her to give the windscreen a wipe

Puts me in mind of the main thread of an old Ronnie Corbett in the chair soliloquy (ie the bit without all the multifarious digressions). I paraphrase:
There's a Scotsman marooned on a desert island. One morning he's on the beach and a wet-suited beauty emerges from the sea Ursula Andress style. His jaw hits his chest. Apart from the score spoiling the day, it was good, have to comment on the pleasantness and the efficiency of the stewards at the LSV nice people like most of the Leythers of course.
Good luck in the eights the club deserves it, plus you won't have Wakey to distract you

Hey Dull Nick, in the apocryphal words of a theatre-goer to Mrs Abraham Lincoln, "Apart from that, Ma'am, how did you enjoy the show?"
There were lots of Wakey shirts in my local in Atherton (Bent in dialect from, Cholle Bynt in Anglo Saxon - do please desist from shortening my name) before the match. Amazing as I'd lived in the town for about 4 years before discovering the hidden gem. How did they find it? They seemed to enjoy themselves. Pity about the later tonking.

Amazing stadium (we are very jealous back in Wakey ..) friendly and helpful Stewards, great location (in a proper RL town) my only
gripe was the bars, very slow service and warm beer.

Overall despite the scoreline we had a great day out. Good luck in the 8's Leythers
