It amazes me the absolute nonsense the lad continually spouts, the only reason he was ever getting any 'stick' or in a bad place is because he handled his departure terribly. In hindsight there was possibly 2 ways he could have left mid season :-
1) Told the world his time had now come to an end at Leigh now that Paul had resigned and he immediatetly wanted to pursue SL options, he does have a clause in his contract but rather than leave the club thats 'made' him without a transfer fee he has asked to be transfer listed, in the meantime he will continue to give his all for Leigh
2) Alternatively, he could choose on the night he had just played scrum half at Bradford to send an email to the club telling them he was serving notice and would be leaving for nothing in a months time. In between that Sunday - to the following Thursday evening nobody would know of this deed until miraculously live on sky at Salford a very game Ryan attended they had an exclusive that Ryan Brierley was quitting Leigh. After this exclusive announcement Leigh chose the right option to suspend the player pending an enquiry. Ryan retaliated with his own press release and ultimately chose to quit this club in its darkest hour for years.
Ill let you debate which were the better options, personally i will always say to Ryan thank you and good luck but the way he engineered his move was a disgrace and unforgivable. I hope he in hindsight he would have preferred option 1!
