The idea of playing Ridyard at centre is foolish. His skill set as a player is totally not suited to playing there, and he would be targeted all game long by any coach worth his salt. Although most players can cover numerous positions, how many have covered half-back / centre at a decent level? Jamie Lyon? Not many, most centres are interchangeable with wing / second-row, not at half-back.

Anyone who advocates playing Ridyard at centre is showing a complete lack of knowledge of the physique, strength and capabilities required in that role. In the absence of a suitable back then the nearest fit is a quick second row forward. However the problem isn't the lack of a centre it is to accommodate three capable halfbacks all with different key skills. There is only one real solution, play two and rest one, don't shuffle a player out of the team and replace him with someone unsuitable for the job.

While I agree that he shouldn't play at centre, and we need to stop trying to shoe horn 3 into 2, it is worth noting that the first person to advocate the idea of Ridy at centre was a certain Paul Rowley!

Mr Jukes has to be given a chance, he is the only Sane person who knows what the score is, hopefully Degsy will induct him into the inner circle and once brainwashed he will then learn to understand the code of Leigh Centurions, obey or you are out.
