Just watched worrying report on Sky Sports News linking lymphoma cancer with artificial pitches. I know LSV have installed new pitches recently and of course Widnes play on one. Parents beware. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/ ... th-7284586

I don't think our pitch is that type but I'm not sure about the Widnes one.

I'm not sure where Widnes pitch fits in, but they did appear to have a layer of rubber-type granules strewn across the surface, which is what the report talks about.

Report on Sky states, they've found no links at all. Stated maybe links in US due to the rubber they use coming from tyres with lead etc in them.

EU tyres don't have these in. So maybe we're all ok here?

All those surfaces are made from used tyres. From the soft tarmac type surfaces in playgrounds to fake grass. There was a company where I have worked in Stockport that made them.
