How are testimonial games normally shared? Not really fussed but that seems a very weak justification TBH

This isn't a normal friendly, it is a Testimonial Game. The way the ticketing has been sorted means that Leigh fans aren't contributing to the fund...........unless the club are making a donation on our behalf.

I suppose there will be bucket collections.

We are contributing 78% of our entitlement based off the scenario I mentioned.

Just maybe when the game was initially arranged it was never scheduled to be a friendly??

And as Frank says if you want to contribute to the testimonial ring the Wire ticket office!!

Seem to remember the friendly with Wigan last year having a 3 way split between the two clubs and Paul Prescott for his testimonial.

I get the impression that RL testimonial matches are more of an afterthought. This was announced as a pre-season friendly that would "double up" as a testimonial, so chances are the game was arranged as a friendly and then the clubs reached an agreement to make it a testimonial, so dont think Leigh can be slagged off for it.

I do remember this was not initially a testimonial. So there maybe something in that. I live in Warrington so now I am torn. Do I buy from Wire or do I get it from Leigh. Maybe get it from Leigh and make a small donation to his testimonial fund at some point. RL players don't earn a fortune over their short careers.

Our club has said Wire keep their share of their ticket sales sales which indicates to me most of that will be given to their players testimonial.

Seems a very generous contribution from our club imo. Should there be a bucket collection I will contribute.

Don't understand the criticism to be honest.

Why can't we just take our expenses. After all, at the cost of this friendly, we might only sell enough to cover our expenses. Think I am going to have to look into normal goings on when it comes to testimonials.

It seems quite clear from the disgust expressed that my current understanding must be wrong.

It was only an opinion. I have also made a choice to not purchase a season ticket.....yet. Well hell I might as well go all out to become a pariah
