Can't believe we would consider getting rid of PR. He has done an excellent job, (with financial backing) in creating something well worth watching, out of virtually nothing. We supporters have been richly entertained these past couple of seasons, and the club, staff and players have progressed hugely. And crowds have increased big time.
Should the team be more circumspect in their approach to games? Well, to a degree, probably. But then how easy would it be to switch back on the style that has produced some breathtaking scores - against SL teams as well as Championship ones? I do think we wouldn't have topped the league on five drives and a kick. Are we being found wanting by the SL teams in the Qualifiers? Yes, slightly, and the coaches/players have to learn from that. There is still time to do that, this season, although there is now no scope for error.
My biggest concern is still the one of indiscipline. It's a fine line between aggression, (absolutely essential, in my view) and indiscipline. Once again, on Saturday, we crossed that line on a number of occasions. How many extra tackles did we gift Trinity as a result of those penalties? How much did that take out of our players, who didn't seem to be capable of creating much in the second half? It's hard enough when our cavalier approach gifts precious possession to our opponents, without piggy-backing them to our line for stupid indiscretions as well!
Good luck to PR and the team, for the rest of this season - and if it doesn't pan out, I'm sure they will all be wiser for 2016.
