I know the weather was a factor, but poor crowd.

Felt really sorry for Fev fans arriving late, but they seem to massively outnumber our own fans in the West stand which means very few Leythers turned out for this major game.

Traffic problems and people working late meant the crowd was much worse than any other time in the week. Even Thursday night is better.

Just think Saturdays suits pretty much everyone, without clashing with any other sports other than ESPN soccer.

Personally I can still spend Sundays with the family and it's not too late to take my daughter and the mrs' nephews.

I would say there was approx 200 Fev fans.

The weather leading up to the game was terrible and obviously impacted on the home support.

Quite frankly I don't think it makes too much difference what day Leigh play at home. We seem to have lost a lot of the fans who we got last season and the reason for that is ?

Well I have no idea because the matches are good to watch even though last nights' result was a bit disappointing.

Think you should look at what day you play does most of your supporters want Friday or is it just the club that want this day ?

It took me 3 hours to get there last night with traffic There would certainly be more away support if it was on another day

Attrocious day yesterday weatherwise, roadworks in town meant everyone got home late. I travelled to from Lincoln and the roads were bad from 6am to 6pm - M62 is the worst road in the UK - Fev fans suffered last night and how many times have we suffered before that.
I would reschedule the Fax game now.
As to the question why such a poor gate - apathy and a failure to engage the non diehards coupled with the weather and roadworks and payday next week for most monthly paid

I agree that we seem to be 'leaking' fans and Friday is not the only reason, but my original point still stands.

If friday night rugby at leigh was a racehorse it would have had a green screen around it and shot.........lets be honest it was another stupid idea by our board who forced it upon a fan base that did not want it coupled with the season ticket farce at the start of the season people voted with there feet,and that is the simple facts.

They lost season ticket sales with this date[never mind the nonsense trev came out with it was forced on them] they gambled and lost on the date.

Now if I remember at the start of the season the freaky friday fans reckoned the ground would be heaving on fridays as all there mates would be coming along because its friday and they will go out for a drink after...yeah right.


The minute they messed season ticket holders around with dates and prices was the start of the problem,they gambled people would pay any way well it seems people are out of the habit of going now.

Our party who use to be season ticket holders choose to watch bruce springsteen at manchester last night as we had booked tickets 12 months in advance and I'm sure many other fans arrange days out venues because it doesn't clash with there sunday rugby fix but freaky fridays came along and when you add up the games you miss because of work and other comitments on fridays a season ticket is a non no.

Hopefully lesson will be learned for next season and a EARLY season ticket will begin as soon as the season is over and get the cash upfront from the fans ....simples really

Lets not get into board bashing folks. Everyone makes mistakes and the choices made were thought to be for the good of the club. Two things I think were factors for last night and both have been covered in Maurs post the weather and the fact that - i personally have never thought about - people only being paid monthly will be almost skint by now. Either that or they will prioritise were and what they spend their last pounds. Personally I have to say saturday afternoon or evenings, and sunday afternoons is my choice. If you never try these things you will never know.
