Trust me when I say we would not be what we are without external finance, Derek has put his ambitions on the table and is prepared to back them in cash. What we need to do as fans is support that ambition through the gates and in any other ways we can
I'm lost on the backing with cash.....External finance includes Sponsorship, advertising, marketing.I've yet to see a major investment from him.
Starbug here
' External ' finance is ' unearned ' , so central SKY funding , gate receipts ,Sponsorship , merchandise sales , lottery is all earned income , add to that LISA donation as essentially the same
No doubt Dereck has put his money in , most definatley to help with cash flow and probably transfer fees , hopefully by the end of the season he won't have had to put too much in , as for what's ' too much ' , that's his business
Just an interesting point , walking the dog this morning at Penny flash , there had been a fun run on of some sort , and as I walked past I heard two blokes chatting
" there was over 4,000 there " was the comment I heard , so still a week later the topic of conversation , it's was great to hear , fantastic growth this season , let's hope it can continue
Do you expect him to tell us every time he writes a cheque??
The point is were is the funding coming from to support that cheque!

Wow, what would you like to see? Get your brain in gear before you give us the answer.
I'd like to see a reality check by people who think one man alone is keeping the club afloat.

Exactly the point I'm making.
Theres no major investment,by that I mean long term ie: I chuck a million in and don't expect it back for 10 years. All investments we are seeing are short term with very low risk factors.
I'm not really bothered about who invests or puts what amount of cash into the Club, things seem to be going good ,Derek B and the other Board members look to have things in their control ,otherwise we wouldn't have paid the Mickey Higham fee,I've NO worries ,we seem to have sponsors ready to support the Club, let Derek and the Board get on with Business off the field ,I'm hoping to enjoy the next couple of months on field, cmon you Leythers.

Ian, Great to see you back at your best. Great post. And as for DB and the team.
The point is were is the funding coming from to support that cheque! His business is very successful and he owns it, so has decided to spend a chunk of its profits on LRLFC
I'd like to see a reality check by people who think one man alone is keeping the club afloat. One man isnt but that man is putting in more than the rest put together by some way
