Great result just hope some of them get a chance at first team in near future and not lost to other clubs or lost to the game altogether.

As discussed previously on here, there needs to be a different method of player development after they are no longer eligible for U19`s.

Certainly playing for a struggling Rochdale team, getting beat most weeks isn`t the answer.

No slight intended to Rochdale.......Previously we were linked with Swinton, and North Wales Crusaders which didn`t work either.

There must be resentment from the existing players of the teams that we have a dual registration with, when a Superleague player is shoed into their 17 man squad.

The stand at Vicky Park was pretty full yesterday so the word about the U19's must have got around. I was asked by one un-named gentleman if I had come "to watch the dream team". Well, they are nowhere near that label yet and yesterdays performance was mainly about hard graft rather than sweeping rugby moves. The ground looked pretty heavy, the wind was very strong, and the team seemed loathe to move the ball out wide too often.

Probably the MOM for me was Tayler Brown playing loose. He made some bullocking runs down the middle and together with his hand-off, was just too much to handle for the Cas. defence in the first half. He scored two tries, made on more and did more than his fair share of defence and taking the ball up. Riley Dean again looked impressive but was fairly quiet in the first half. At the start of the second he made several quality breaks and laid on three tries. I still can't believe he didn't manage to get his name on the scoresheet. At that point with the score roughly 40-0 you could be excused into thinking Wire were going to move the ball and rack up a very big score, but Cas. worked very hard and the physicality of the game increased a tad. In fact it increased so much the support staff ran out of spare handbags and the ref instructed Dean to 'have a word with the team'.

Other players (just IMO) to catch the eye were Thewliss at the back who was solid under the high ball and looked dangerous running it back. Daniel Harper seemed to get through a mountain of work when coming off the bench, and Joe Barnes and George Roby both played well.

A solid game, but I think they will need to up their performance a notch for the next one.

The tries are on the clubs official YouTube channel Wolves Media.

The U16's tries against Widnes are also on there.

I need to get myself down to the matches more often again, used to go all the time when they were at Wilderspool.
