I saw that Saints didn't travel on the day, so they've not got that excuse. Saints were missing Lomax, Fages and LMS but Catalan were missing Broughton, Mead, McIlorum, Edwards, Garcia.

Heavy, stamina-sapping pitch, attritional physical match, travel, 24 hours less recovery time and injuries.

RL is fast becoming a total lottery and match deciding decisions being adjudged by whim, toss of a coin, phases of the moon but more often inconsistent, ungoverned, pedantic, aloof officials

The obstruction rule is simply woeful. Ruins the sport. Should only be obstruction if a player has been clearly prevented from making a tackle that would have more than likely prevented a try.

That Catalan game was the worst Refereed game I’ve ever watched, the level of coaching by the ref was unbelievable surely that needs to stop.As for that disallowed try it left me scratching my head.

Am I the only one who thought there was something dodgy about the tackle that led to the dislocated shoulder? It seemed like the arm was rotated against the joint. It may be it is an inevitable development of trying to prevent the ball being grounded but I’m not sure it should be allowed (awaits “snowflake “ accusation).

Everyone goes mad about the cannonballing of knee joints and rightly so, but what’s the deal with a tackler repeatedly punching the ball carriers’ forearm in a tackle? This happens a lot and never seems to get any penalties. How long til someone gets a broken arm?

And no, I’m not a snowflake. It’s not even the ball-carrying arm which makes it even stranger.
