I thought he did well when he came on. Looks strong and up for it. Powerful runner and doesn't shirk in the tackle.

That's what he was last season. He has a presence similar to that of Anthony Gelling.
I was surprised to see Mitch Brown in ahead of him...
Tbh I'd have played Charnley at centre ahead of Mitch Brown. Charnley is a very handy centre himself. If Charnley was at Wigan now, I'm pretty sure he'd be the starting 3/4 all year, with Bateman returning full time into the back row.

Brown didn’t do much wrong but I’m sure the reason Pomeroy started on the bench was his limited time training full-time with us. Seemed like a good decision to me. Thought he was quality despite his age last year, and looked no different last night. Shame he wasn’t lining up next to Hiku though.

Charnley has never played centre since a couple of games on loan at Hull KR 8 years ago.

I thought Charnley had played a couple of games at centre for Wigan? Rather see Pomeroy there though, or even Livett. Let Charnley do what he does best.

Just the one game at centre for Wigan, July 8th 2016 against Wakefield Trinity. Lewis Tierney and Dominic Manfredi were the wingers.

5 games at centre for Hull KR, and 5 tries.
