They knocked us out last year at the HJ - Patton's poor DG attempt

I think we're not counting last season. Tbh even what I can recall is all a haze now. It was a terrible year...on par with Anderson and Plange era.

Forgot that one: for obvious reasons probably.

Worse than Anderson/Plange year as we ended up playing Championship sides.

This one is the acid test. Provided that everybody came through last Sunday's match unscathed then we'll have pretty much our first choice 17 (a fully fit Currie might have pushed Livett or Hughes onto the bench). Both teams have had a six day turnaround and both teams have enjoyed a good run of form. In short, no excuses either way.

A mouth watering prospect, but our defense will need to be a bit sharper than it was in the opening quarter against Toronto.

It's regular occurrence with Wire. They drop intensity against easier opponents and raise it against "arch rivals"!

Same for Wigan, best performance for ages against Cas a few weeks back, then we've been bang average against Widnes, Salford and HKR.
Hopefully we'll pick it up again on Saturday, certainly going to need to.

By contrast, you're not theirs, and not even close.

Doesn’t make any difference. Atlético see Real as their arch enemy when Real see theirs as Barça and the Atléti-Real games are always brilliant, still a proper fixture when it comes round and so is Wire-Wigan. Even if it’s not their biggest game it’s not just a run-of-the-mill game against anyone, it’s always a big game for them too.

And let’s not forget, Saints weren’t a club anyone was bothered about until the 1950s, Wire-Wigan was the big North West derby before then.
