Saints really are a one trick team.
Barba the difference. It's obvious that Cas are going to struggle with makeshift hbs.

Castleford seem to be more a one trick pony. Take Gale out of the team and they are rudderless. Very pedestrian today.

They were and have been the last month. As you see, there's not to Saints but Barba.

Amazing how many times Saints got away with sheperding Cas players off the ball & their usual short ten yards at the ptb. At least Dave Woods tried to make the game sound exciting.

To be honest I cant see how Saints win that game if Barba didn't play.

Cas had both half backs out they had a make shift hooker by sticking their loose forward there (who by the way is a top quality player). Shenton at Full back for what the second time in his career...?? and had numerous other first choice players out Eden, Springer, Massey etc

if Saints had played under those circumstances some commentators would have asked for them to be honored like the soldiers at Rourkes drift...

Added to that we had James Child at his best...two identical Shepherds to protect the ball catcher, Saints get the Penalty, Cas don't.

I still think Wigan are a stronger team than Saints....

No question...the only team that stands in the way of Wigan is us.
I honestly think us or Pies will finish top with the other 3rd.

.....Barba was targeted but he stood too deep knowing that was happening. Cas shooting the line to get at him. Risky if you don't put fast and great hit tacklers on him, but that is the way to shut him down. I'd put Atkins on him on one side, and when he tries his sneak over the other side because he knows he's marked and then have Lineham on to him.
He'd get so fed up he'd be snorting the touchline.

I'm surprised that Barba wasn't more successful in his brief RU career, maybe his kicking game wasn't good enough.

Look at Charnley. These guys need some space to create. Space is something you don't get much of in a 15 man game.

So this season is a two horse race between Wigan and Warrington? You must have drastically improved since we played you. Even taking Barba out of the side, I'd be confident we could give Warrington a game and we've got Alex Walmsley to come back at some point. But good to know we've no chance so I won't need to save any money for finals this year.
