There's plenty of average players who have a bunch of honours too.

eg Ryan Bailey has:

Super League (6): 2004, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012
World Club Challenge (3): 2005, 2008, 2012
League Leader's Shield (2): 2004, 2009
Challenge Cup (1): 2014

ryan bailey at leeds was never average.only the deluded would think that way.what he did for us was average to say the least..any player who as that roll of honour must be good..poor argument

He's a forward that is direct and elusive at the same time.
A very unique forward. The Aussies will love it.

No he won't.

OK, let me edit the list slightly to make it a little easier for you to see my point...

RLIF player of the year (I.e. He was judged the best RL player in the world; I can't remember exactly, but I think Bailey just missed the shortlist that year)
12 NZRL caps (i.e. He has been consistently judged amongst the top few NZ RL players)
33 All Black caps (i.e. Has has been concsistently judged amongst the top NZ RU players)
Two rah World Cups (i.e. The above team he was consistently judged good enough was throughout the period the best RU national team in the world)
WBA boxing champ (I only left this in to give you a chance to rattle on about how there's too many boxing belts, instead of admitting you made a silly comment).

What areas of his game do you think would have been better if he'd have stayed at the Bulldogs? Or in RL? Or in RU after his first switch?

Yes, I concede, there's only one option allowed, and its obviously yours.

I accept that it is just me alone that will see SBW's legacy as that of a mercenarcy selling his considerable talent to the highest bidder.

I seek no support in my clearly held individual view, and SBW is obviously the solution to the current malaise at Wires and the North Korean crisis.

It would be interesting to see what salary SBW would expect & ,in a salary capped sport, what would be left to assemble the rest of the team.
Good coaching seems the best way forward at present where there are not a lot of established players worth going after but youngsters coming through.
That is just my opinion.

Your opinion has changed tho??

You first indicated that he never really fulfilled his potential or could have been even better if he didn't switch or move so much. Now he is just a mercinary who has capitalised on what people are willing to pay for his services. As mentioned a lot in the last season or so this is an entertainment business and they are entertainers and should be free to earn as much as they can. It's funny how we can hold entertainers to some kind of higher standard than ourselves would you stay in your current job if a an other employer has offered you significantly more money ?? Most people would jump at that kind of oppertunity yet we expect players not to ??

I don't think he alone would be the answer but it would be great to watch him play for however long he was here. But the more likely scenario is he won't be here and I'll not be upset if he is not but he would tear up super league for sure !!
