pissing thousands and thousands of pounds up the wall scouting amateur players in the early to mid nineties to get them to sign for us, which eventually(and partially) contributed to us not having a pot to mickey in after the onset of Superleague and causing 5/6 years of financial crisis as we struggled on the pitch and off it.

Oh, and getting rid of Pizza Pods.

This for me ^^^
we went into that cup final with Paul Bishop and Martin Crompton...... against Gregory and Edwards...... it was a total non starter.
(which is why I find the post about Crompton to Wigan as a blunder hugely mistyfying)

Woods was the best halfback on the field in the semi final 12 months earlier. we needed someone to control the game and we didn't have it, that's why Mercer did his hopeless chip over the to for Preston to Score.

and I'd have given Les Boyd one more year out of pure sentimentality... he deserved to play at wembley....

Yes, all valid reasons, and certainly John Woods would have lit up Wembley.

I think Vagana had outgrown us, and Blake and Davo went for the prestige, glory and.money and I don't blame them for that.

On balance, I'm sticking with those baseball jackets. If Geoge Clooney had walked into a town centre pub wearing one of those he'd have failed to pull. Not only were they dreadful looking, they seemed to be made of the kind of material favoured by artic explorers, thus making the wearer unpleasantly sweaty as well as hideously attired.

wore mine twice at the most.
one of those things you look at in the pictures and think "i'm having that"..In reality it was hideous...!!

I came close to topping that with a green and White Skoal Bandit jacket (skoal bandit was chewing Tobbacco)
I wore it for riding my Motorbike...again great on Barry sheen and the like in a modelling catalogue...but bozzing down Wilderspool Causeway.... not so great...
