Unfortunately all sport is performance based and the Coaches are always held responsible. You never see a player being sacked during the season for simply not performing, would be funny though (but not really). Right Hughes your not doing your job well enough heres your P45

Didn't David Plange do that to someone when he was here? It might have been Cardoza.

David Plange now there was a coach with an eye for a good player - picking up Nat Wood saved us from relegation and he saw the potential in Ben Westwood and Graham Appo. He also picked Danny Halliwell out of obscurity on loan, he became a try scoring machine and then disappeared when he left us.

Beg pardon? A "try scoring machine"? Are you experimenting with irony?

The only machine I recall from the Plange era was the one in Time Square they used to keep the Newcastle Brown cool, and to help ease me through the horrors of that period.

We've had relative success compared to most clubs in the last 8 or so years. It should have been better but nonetheless we've done alright.

Compare that with any sporting club who have a revolving door in the managers office and put his initials in chalk in the parking space. Coaching success unfortunately takes time.

Just my opinions unless it's a FACT, in which case it's a fact.

If we were losing whilst still playing good attacking rugby I don't think anyone would be calling for smith out.

The only reason we are is because we look stale. even when we win we don't look convincing. That's the only reason.

Nobody like losing but it's the manner in which we are.

I can't see anyone taking issue with your observation that we look stale, certainly our attack is stuttering to say the least. The real division in opinion is whether the solution lies in sacking Smith.

Couldn't agree more. It's an entertainment business. You want punters turning up every match because they're enjoying the spectacle not just turning up when we get to a final.
